What Is BMR?

BMR Formula Used in This Calculator
This tool uses the commonly used Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which estimates BMR using weight, height, age, and gender.
Male Formula
BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A + 5
Female Formula
BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A - 161
In this formula, W means weight in kilograms, H means height in centimeters, and A means age in years.
BMR vs TDEE
BMR only estimates calories burned at rest. TDEE means Total Daily Energy Expenditure. TDEE includes your BMR plus calories burned through daily movement, exercise, and activity.

How to Use Your BMR Result
